Our Founder
Aruna Gunawardana founded “Aruna Discovery” to share the island delights that he loves with curious travellers. A native Sri Lankan, he spent four years at university in Russia where he became fluent in the Russian language and immersed himself in Russian culture. He is an accredited Sri Lanka National Tourist Guide approved by the government.
Aruna comes from a local Sri Lankan family with generations of involvement in tourism, and that lifetime of connection to place shapes every tour that we run.
